Maria Galchenko told how children in her family are getting ready for school, recalled with horror about her six-year study in Germany and shared a simple recipe for a school breakfast.
Soon September 1. My younger sisters and brother are already preparing for school.
Home turmoil: everyone needs pens, pencils, rulers, notebooks, covers for books and many, many school stuff. Children run around the apartment and find out who has what and what to buy.
Understandably, I help them. For example, I pick up clothes in which they will go to school, and clean summer clothes until next season.
And when I do not need, I try to run away from home to take a break from the hustle and think about my own.
For six years in a row, my academic year began around mid-September: I studied in Germany, and there is no such thing as September 1st. Germany is divided into federal lands, and in each of them the summer holidays end at different times.
Someone in early August, someone in the middle of August, and someone in the beginning or middle of September.
But now everything is different. I will no longer be studying in another country, constant flights, sad partings and joyful meetings – now I will live in Moscow.
I got a job here and I want to say that I don’t regret it yet. I missed home, missed friends.
I want to spend time with him, make up for something that may have missed over the years spent in Germany.
But something is too big a digression. Raising the topic September 1, I just wanted to share with you a very simple recipe for a loved one in our family. sandwich with lightly salted salmon, which can be easily packaged in foil and given to the younger ones with you to school, or taken to college or to work.
What do you need:
- 2 cereal buns
- 2 small pieces of lightly salted salmon
- 1 small cucumber
- 2 tsp. cheeseAlmette“
- 2 tsp. cream horseradish (can be replaced by simple)
- some leaves of any green salad
- salt and pepper to taste
What to do:
Preheat oven to 220 degrees in grill mode.
Cover baking sheet with baking paper.
Each bun cut lengthwise into two parts and put on a baking sheet. Put in the oven for 3-4 minutes to brown.
An alternative to the oven is a toaster.
When the bread is reddened, remove and cool.
Cucumber wash and peel. Cut in half.
Wash lettuce leaves and dry.
Smear halves of one bun with cream cheeseAlmette“, The second half – horseradish. For each sandwich, put on a piece of salted salmon, half a cucumber, salt a little, pepper and finish the composition with lettuce leaves.
Fold the halves – sandwiches ready! One with cream cheese, the other with horseradish.
It remains to pack them in foil and put in a school bag.
“As far as I can remember, they always cooked perfectly at home. Mom devoted most of her time to food: she taught cooking classes, wrote articles, books — so my love for cooking was laid down by genes. Accordingly, I started cooking early.
At the age of 14 I went to study in Germany, came to Moscow every 2 months for a small vacation. Since my friends were studying or working in the morning, I needed to find something to do. It did not take long to search.
An invisible thread pulled me into the kitchen. I cooked dinners for the whole family, made up recipes for some incredible cakes, thought about what I could cook for my younger sisters and brother. In a sense, I found myself enjoying incredible pleasure from the process of cooking and delight of family and friends, caused by my, so to speak, hobby. ”
